High demand for Doosan CNC machine tools. Mills CNC announces 'best ever' sales figures for July.

Mills launches revolutionary technology at MACH.

Mills launches revolutionary technology at MACH. The Company, exclusive distributor of Doosan machine tools in the UK and Ireland, has taken out its biggest ever stand (23.5m x 20.0m) in Hall 5 Stand 5430 at this year’s MACH from where it will showcase 13 Doosan machines. The machines being exhibited reflect the breadth and depth of the Doosan range...and include 6 brand new machines all making their UK debuts at MACH.

Says Nick Frampton, Mills CNC’s managing director:

‘We’re putting a lot of resources into MACH, and see the Show as the ideal platform to launch a number of new Doosan machines and models into the market.

‘Doosan machine tools are designed to help customers revolutionise their productivity, performance and, ultimately, their profitability too. That’s why, year-on-year, there is such high demand for Doosan technology...and, of course for Mills’ service and support.’

The different machine tool technologies represented on Mills’ Stand is impressive and consist of – lathes and turning centres, vertical and horizontal machining centres (including 5-axis milling machines), and multi-axis, multi-tasking mill-turn and turning centres.

Since their first introduction into the UK in 2004, Doosan (MX series) multi-axis mill-turn centres, and multi-axis (TT series) turning centres have taken the market by storm, and are used extensively by precision manufacturers in and across a number of industry sectors – aerospace, defence, medical, oil/gas, power generation etc.

The latest multi-axis mill-turn and turning centres being exhibited by Mills at MACH are as follows.

MX 3100: NEW Multi-axis Mill-Turn Centre

The MX 3100 is making its UK debut at MACH. The machine is the latest MX machine from Doosan, and will be showcased alongside the smaller MX 2100ST machine that was introduced into the UK in 2008/09.

The MX 3100 is powerful and versatile allowing customers to perform simple turning and milling operations right through to the production of complex machined parts. The machine has a bar capacity of 102mm and powerful 30kW, 3,000rpm spindle. Machining flexibility is enhanced via the machine’s 22kW, 118Nm, 12,000rpm milling spindle, capable of machining the toughest exotic materials. The spindle is mounted on a 240 degree swing B axis and includes a 230mm stroke Y axis to provide ultimate flexibility. The MX3100 also includes a 40 tool magazine with Capto C6 tooling.

Additional features on the MX3100 at MACH are a servo driven tailstock and servo driven hydraulic steady rest.

TT 1800 SY: Twin Turret – Twin Spindle Turning Centre

The compact TT 1800 SY 8-axis machine, with integrated Y-axis capability (+/- 50mm), has been designed to take customers’ productivity to new dimensions.

The machine, first launched at MACH 2008, is making a return visit to the place and venue where it received its first (of many) rave reviews. The TT machine being showcased has a 65mm bar working diameter; 22kW 5,000rpm spindles (left and right) and 40m/min rapids.

The TT 1800 SY provides the optimum machining solution for high volume manufacture of small-to-medium size, complex parts and completes the Mills:Doosan line-up of multi-tasking mill-turn and turning centres being exhibited at the Show.
